The Association of Business Practitioners (ABP) has worked with expert practitioners to develop Level 7 Extended Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Management in the Health and Social Care Sector to explore LMHSC issues from an international and global perspective.
This programme has been developed in line with the QCF guidance and regulations applicable to qualifications accredited by Ofqual, the government regulator of qualifications and assessments. Level 7 Extended Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership & Management in the Health & Social Care Sector provides specialist work-related programmes of study that covers the key knowledge, understanding and practical skills required in the management in the Health and Social Care sector. This qualification offers an engaging programme for higher education and adult learners who are clear about the area of management they wish to enter or progress within. The qualification also provides a suitable qualification for those wishing to change career or move into employment in management following a career break.
This course leads to a recognised professional management qualification which is accepted by some universities for direct entry into the final year of an MBA.
This programme is particularly designed for learners who wish to explore the Management of Human Resources within a global business context and welcome learners with Bachelor degrees in disciplines other than Leadership and Management in the Health and Social Care Sector or Development.
Students applying for the programme would benefit more readily if they possess a Bachelors Degree in any discipline or overseas equivalent. This programme is particularly designed for learners who wish to explore the Management of Human Resources within a global business context and welcome learners with Bachelor degrees in disciplines other than Leadership and Management in the Health and Social Care Sector or Development.
Students who wish to apply for the course must need to produce Secure English Language Test (SELT) certificate from a UK Boarder Agency approved provider, showing that they have achieved level B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in each of the components: Speaking; listening; reading; and writing. Students will automatically meet the language requirements if they have successfully completed a qualification, equivalent to a UK bachelor's or above, which was taught in English in the UK or a majority English-speaking country or a nation of the English-speaking country.
Extended 8 module (120 credits) qualifications with the following structure:

. Leading strategic change in health and social care
. Managing enterprise in health and social care
. Managing finance in health and social care
. Managing service delivery in health and social care
. Personal and team effectiveness in health and social care
. Public sector management
. Strategic management in public and non-profit organisations
All our study programmes are organised on semester basis. For each unit students are assessed by the end of the semester separately on the basis of defined learning outcomes. Once the coursework/assignment is assess by the module tutor then Internal Verifier (IV) will go through to ensure required learning outcomes have been achieved. This work is then checked by an independent External Verifier (EV) appointed by ABP to grant the qualification. Assessment is encouraged throughout the programme utilising variable and creative assessment tools with minimal reliance on formal examinations.
The students will be awarded the ABP Level 7 Extended Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership and Management in the Health and Social Care Sector with Extended 8 module (120 credits) qualifications out of the total 180 credit points from the MBA/Masters Programme. Students must pass each assessment component of every unit before final certificate is issued.
On the completion of the programme learners may aspire to employment in a general middle-management role. Alternatively learners may also be eligible for exemption credits towards MBA's or Master Degrees at UK Universities.
