LIFE IN LONDON

As the saying goes, "if you're tired of London, you're tired of life".

Studying at London Churchill College will provide you with a gateway to an unparalleled experience, opening new employment prospects and life experiences

We are located just on the fringes of London's foremost financial districts, the City of London and the Docklands

The City of London has world famous attractions like the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, London Bridge and the Millenium Foot Bridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Barbican Arts Centre and the Museum of London. Displaying London's history from 1666 to the present day, it is free of charge and open every day of the week. The City also has a number of specialist public libraries like the City Business Library, providing free access to business information and expert staff to help you find it. Needless to say, the City is at the heart of the world's financial markets, containing the famous Square Mile with leading trading, banking and financial institutions.

The Docklands, with its picturesque canals and famous Canary Wharf, is a new financial hub and tourist attraction with many modern skyscrapers, shopping malls and its own London City Airport. It can be reached by the overground train, the Dockland's Light Railway starting from Bank station, which provides a bird's eye view of the Docklands and surrounding areas including Greenwich, the home of the famous observatory and Greenwich mean time.

While we are on the border of Zone1, at the same time, we are still in the affordable Zone 2 where your money goes a longer way and there are reasonably priced restaurants, shops and an open-air market with cheap goods, including fruit and vegetables, but many other items, too, like clothing, shoes, mobiles and household items.

As a student, you are entitled to 30% discount on London Transport, which is a unique feature of student life in London. Many attractions like its famous parks and museums, are either free of charge or have a considerable discount for students, so that your education here will be cultural as well as academic.

Last not least, there is a wide choice of part-time jobs you can apply for, as under UK law, you are entitled to work for a total of 20 hours per week. Jobs may be had in the catering industry or service area, depending upon your inclinations, background and experience. London Churchill College is happy to provide you with orientation when it comes to your job search, so that you will never be 'out of pocket'.
