The ACCA Qualification embeds the global accounting education standards set by the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC). There is a strong focus on professional values, ethics, and governance. These skills are essential as the profession moves towards strengthened codes of conduct, regulation, and legislation - with an increasing focus on professionalism and ethics in accounting. These are examined at the highest level in the ACCA Qualification and are a core element of your practical experience requirements.
In a unique partnership between ACCA and Oxford Brookes University, you will have the opportunity to study for a BSc. (Hons) in Applied Accounting whilst taking your ACCA exams. Part way through - or even after - your studies, you can opt to complete a research and analysis project and gain an internationally recognised degree qualification. ACCA offers you various entry points on to the ACCA Qualification, depending on your age and previous academic qualifications. Minimum entry requirements Two A Levels and three GCSEs or equivalent in five separate subjects, including English and Mathematics.
Relevant degree holders from ACCA-accredited institutions may be exempted from all nine exams within the Fundamentals level and register directly at the Professional level. Non-relevant degrees may also qualify for some exemptions.
Students who wish to apply for the course must need to produce Secure English Language Test (SELT) certificate from a UK Boarder Agency approved provider, showing that they have achieved level B2 on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in each of the components: Speaking; listening; reading; and writing. Students will automatically meet the language requirements if they have successfully completed a qualification, equivalent to a UK bachelor's or above, which was taught in English in the UK or a majority English-speaking country or a nation of the English-speaking country.
You will need to complete 14 papers in total. A maximum of nine papers in the Fundamentals level are available for exemption.
